Privacy & Map Services
This page lists the third-party services this app (and our documentation site, which embeds live demos of the app in some blog posts) load directly in your browser, in addition to our general Privacy Policy. These services are contacted by your browser, not through our servers, so each one receives your IP address directly when a map is shown.
Map & imagery providers
- OpenFreeMap (
tiles.openfreemap.org) — provides the base street map. Loaded on every map view. - Esri ArcGIS Location Platform (
basemapstyles-api.arcgis.com,ibasemaps-api.arcgis.com) — provides satellite/aerial imagery outside Bavaria. Esri Inc. is a US-based company; this imagery is only loaded if you enable the aerial imagery toggle on the map. Loading it may involve a transfer of your IP address to servers outside the EU. - Bayerische Vermessungsverwaltung (
geoservices.bayern.de) — provides official Bavarian aerial imagery (DOP20). Only loaded if you enable the aerial imagery toggle while viewing a location in Bavaria.
What we don't use
We don't run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. All fonts are self-hosted. Your dark/light theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
Sign-in
If you sign in, we set a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in. It is required for the login feature to work and is removed when you log out.
